Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (MBA preferred but not required). Minimum 5 years of cost-accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Must have a thorough knowledge and understanding of general accounting principles, company policies and procedures, and their relation to a practical brewery operations environment; the major emphasis being placed on cost accounting, the budgeting process (directing, analyzing, explaining, etc.), monthly reporting of financial performance to satisfy brewery and corporate requirements, and control over the revenue (billing) process, payments, (accounts payable), payroll functions, production accounting and proper internal controls. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with many different personalities and levels of education and experience.
Responsibilities:
Manages and directs the functions of the brewery accounting area in accordance with company and brewery policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles. Coordinates with the brewery controller to provide brewery management with timely and concise reports to measure brewery and department performances identifies brewery problem areas and reviews brewery financial performance. Directs the processing and control of all brewery controlled general ledger functions and monitors the timely processing of all items required to close the books. Leads a comprehensive audit program of the brewery to maintain compliance with company and brewery policies and procedures and safeguard assets. Monitors adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Policies (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as they relate to brewery accounting and reporting. Monitors compliance to all elements of the brewery's internal control/SOX standards. Manages the record maintenance
